How app is based on research:

- Keeping a gratitude journal is a great way to ensure that you realize how wonderful your life really is. Studies have shown that gratitude journals increase your happiness.

- Smiling more will make you happy! Even if it's forced at first, you'll soon  be realizing that it will come more natural and be easier to do.

- Rating your current level of happiness could make you more mindful of it which has the potential to make you happier since it's on your mind. This feature is also very useful for helping you track progress. More research is needed in this area to determine long term benefits.

Some reminder features:

- Allow for randomness. You don't want to always smile at 3pm, let's try to mix it up a bit.

- Specify time ranges. No point getting a reminder to rate your happiness if you are already asleep.

- Specify exact times so you can write your grateful things on your schedule. Try in the morning.
